Parenting Classes

Learn how to regain control of your household with this 10-week course led by the San Joaquin County Office of Education. This course is designed to help parents of difficult or out-of-control adolescents ages 11-19. Parents meet once a week to discuss topics such as: 

Dealing with emotional behavior

Threats of running and suicide

Recognizing drug and alcohol use

Preventing gang involvement

Establishing house rules

Effective action plans

VOICES Chat is a virtual support group for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. It is a safe space for participants to chat with others that have  experienced trauma with an opportunity to share feelings.*

 

*Please note, you do not have to share unless you want to.

Join us for a virtual night of mandala coloring as we listen to a relaxing story via the Calm app.

Art supplies are available for pickup from the FJC once registered.

5:30PM - 7:00PM

On the 2nd Thursday of each month, the FJC will be hosting a virtual presentation on Human Trafficking Prevention and Education. 

Rotating topics about human trafficking will include: Is Your Soul for Sale? - general education on human trafficking, guidance for parents of a runaway in "the life", the journey after "the life", and VOICES of a Survivor.

5:30PM - 7:00PM

This is a monthly virtual support group that features a domestic violence survivor guest speaker. The speaker will share their experience with domestic violence and how they were able to survive and gain control their life.

5:30PM - 6:30PM

For this virtual activity, each participant will decorate their own Gratitude Jar where they save slips of paper with things they are grateful for on a daily basis.

Art supplies are available for pickup from the FJC once registered.

Wednesday

January 27

5:30PM - 6:30PM

Join us in the FJC kitchen for a live virtual cooking demonstration led by a guest chef.

Groceries will be provided free of cost and will be available for pick-up at the FJC.
